The Mobile Money service is available to all MTN customers. Non-MTN users can also use the service to receive money transfers from registered Mobile Money customers (they get a Mobile Money voucher).

If you are not fully registered, please visit the nearest MTN service centre or Dealer shop nationwide. You will need to provide details including:
- Valid South Sudan ID
- MTN phone number
- Passport (if foreign national)
- Address details

You can load money into your MoMo wallet at any Authorised Mobile Money Agent by paying equivalent cash.
Your Mobile Money wallet number is your mobile phone number.
No. The Mobile Money PIN is different, it is selected during registration for Mobile Money transactions. You can select your own PIN number.
With Mobile Money, no bank account is needed to send or receive money. All you need is a Mobile Money enabled MTN SIM card and a mobile phone.
No. You cannot use existing MTN prepaid airtime to credit into your MoMo account.
No. Your Mobile Money account can contain any amount from 0 SSP to 2,000, 000 SSP depending on the transaction limit of the wallet.

Yes. The Mobile Money service can be accessed via USSD so all mobile phones will be able to support Mobile Money
Yes. Mobile Money can be used to pay utility bills such as, electricity, water bills etc. (This is not available now, but it is coming soon).
Yes. Mobile money can be used to pay Post-paid bills, this service is not available now but coming soon.
Yes. The Mobile Money service works on roaming. However, you will be charged for the SMS traffic by the host network at International Roaming rates and there will be limited functionality. Can only send/receive money. You cannot use your MoMo in another country that also has MTM MoMo
Yes. You can transfer funds from your bank account to your MTN Mobile Money wallet and vice versa. In order to link your bank account with your mobile money account, a subscriber will have to visit their respective bank branch. The bank has to be a part of MTN Mobile Money partner banks in order to be listed on the MoMo channel (i.e. USSD, App, etc.). This service is not available now but coming soon for Afriland customers

You need to keep your Mobile Money PIN secret from others. Memorize your Mobile Money PIN and do not carry it with your phone.
Do not use your date of birth as your pin and also do not use conservative numbers are your pin.
Never give away your Mobile Money PIN. If you have reason to believe your Mobile Money PIN has been compromised, you can change the Mobile Money PIN in the Mobile Money menu.

Your money is safe. Your MoMo wallet is protected by your MoMo PIN. You should call the MTN Call Centre on 200, or visit the nearest service point to block your wallet by first authenticating yourself. Thereafter you need to do a SIM swap and unblock your Mobile Money wallet by calling the Call Center or visiting the nearest service point
The cash will be paid to your next of kin provided during registration or be part of your estate if listed in your will. Your next of kin will have to provide a letter of administration from the court indicating that you are the next of kin and also ordering MTN to make the payment
The Mobile Money fees are automatically deducted from your account where applicable.

No. The SMS’s generated by the Mobile Money application are FREE
